Freddie Wagner and Ureter Cancer

Hi, I'm Laura, one of many lucky to know Freddie Wagner and his family and I'm inviting you to make a donation toward his present challenge, Ureter Cancer. Freddie was diagnosed December 13, 2023 when a doctor discovered a tumor on his kidney. This cancer is moving aggressively.

A horrible shock, as you can imagine.

Because the doctors have determined that "traditional" chemo is not appropriate given his medical history and due to the fragility of the kidneys, Freddie has been accepted into a clinical trial and will be traveling from Abilene to Dallas/Ft. Worth (approx. 2.5 - 3 hours one way) every ten days for 8 sessions of chemotherapy starting Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

He will have surgery at the end of March 2024 to remove the affected kidney as well as the ureter.

After surgery, Freddie will continue to receive chemotherapy in DFW, likely for another 8 sessions.

We have the opportunity to support the Wagners financially. Funds for gas, food, and lodging are welcome. There will be insurance deductibles and extraordinary out of pocket expenses associated with treatment and surgery.

Of course, we know this falls on the heels of Freddie's life-threatening bout of cerebral malaria, his amputations, and his prosthetic expenses. The Wagners have endured significant medical + psychological trauma in the past few years. Today, the overwhelm, grief, and fear is real.
