Fredonia Softball 10-12 All-Star team is headed to States!
Fredonia Little League's 10-12 year old softball team is asking for your help! They have won the chance to represent all of Western New York at the New York State Softball Little League Championship Tournament in Smithtown, NY (Long Island) from July 8th - 12th. While this is a great accomplishment by these strong athletes, the financial strain of the trip and lodging over the course of the tournament has posed quite a challenge for the families of the 12 girls participating. NYS Little League was tasked with fitting in the sectional tournaments around the Fourth of July holiday, as well as requiring a quick 2-day turnaround between the Sectional round and the State rounds. This means that while our team won their game on Friday, July 5th, they must play their first state tournament game on Monday, July 8th... an 8-hour trip from home!
Most of these players started this journey around five years old, playing tee ball! To see their dedication and practice pay off with this opportunity to represent their town (and region!) is a huge reward. The sacrifices they have made over the years to improve their skills through countless practices and games is incredible.
We hope that you will consider making a donation to these athletes. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help players and their families cover transportation, lodging, and meals for the duration of the tournament. On behalf of the Fredonia 10-12 Softball Little League All-Stars, we thank you!
Thanks again for your support!
