Free Etowah Project: Support Immigrant Detainees!

Donation protected

Immigrant Detainees are experiencing human rights violations in ICE facilities. Inside Etowah County Detention Center in Alabama and Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Louisiana, detainees experience inadequate precautions for COVID-19, lack of sunlight, no access to the law library. The detainees are also facing harassment, retaliation, and racism, for example when facility managers punish detainees for speaking out about unsafe conditions.

The families of three individuals have had enough of this abuse on their loved ones who are detained. This GoFundMe is to support detainees at Etowah County Jail, and individuals who have recently been released. The funds will be used for transportation costs when detainees are released, and legal assistance as we bring criminal & civil rights actions against ICE, and fight for our loved ones' freedom. We will be planning more protests and public pressure campaigns to raise awareness as well.
