Free Fire Skateboards
Donation protected
Dear All,
It is time for our annual Honey Drive. This year instead of fundraising directly to AIM our family decided to do it differently. While we will donate half of all proceeds from Honey Drive to AIM the rest will stay in our family to support Sebastian's (Seva) our 11 year old son's new initiative that he and his brother Peter calling Free Fire Skateboards. As many of you know and can see from the video Seva has taken a deep liking to skateboarding. In addition his other passion is cooking, and cooking really well! In fact Seva's instagram name is skate_chef, and that's how he defines himself for now. Seva's dream is to one day become a successful chef, influencer, professional skateboarder who will teach other skateboarders how to eat right! So to make the first step Seva with our help and help of his brother (who will be designing all images) want to start the first Kogan Brothers longitudinal project by making their own brand of skateboarding equipment, clothing line, and Seva's cooking demos to help skateboarders to get off junk food and eat well. While this goal seems very ambitious we want to support him and believe that it can succeed! And the bonus is that Peter and Seva will donate 10% of the profits back to AIM if their brand takes off!
But to update you all about AIM Health Institute:
This has been a year like no other. No matter our circumstances in life, we have all faced fear and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. And sadly, many of us have faced illness and the loss of friends and loved ones.
But the statistics are clear – front line workers, low-income people, and Black and Brown people are disproportionately bearing the brunt of this crisis. They are more likely to get sick and more likely to die, all the while facing incredible economic challenges.
We founded AIM Health Institute to try to address the injustice of racial and economic health disparities. And this year has proven that our mission is more important than ever.
The pandemic forced AIM to cease all of its in-person services for low-income clients. We were able to shift to an online model that is providing stress management and wellness offerings each week, which have been well-received in the community. And we are preparing to gear back up for in-person services as soon as public health guidelines allow.
But we need your help. AIM has faced deep budget cuts and had to cancel all of our fundraising events in 2020. We are relying on the contributions of friends like you until we can return to normal service delivery operations and fundraising programs.
And of course anyone who donates $30 or more will be getting small jar of honey, medium if $50 or more and larger if donation is $100 or more. It is not too late to get your honey for winter holidays!!!
With gratitude,
Angela, Misha, Peter, Seva and of course all our bees!
