My brother Lamont has been in prison for 27 years for residential burglary in California under the Three Strike Law. He received 40 years to Life for a residential burglary. Lamont already served 27 years and was denied parole for crimes he has already served time. The tragedy of justice is that First-degree (residential) burglary is a felony in California with a state prison sentence of two (2) - six (6) years in prison; not 27 years! Lamont has been incarcerated for over half of his life! This is not justice; it is cruelty, victimization, and inhumane treatment.
Prison is undeniably horrific. Lamont has missed 27 years of his lifespan. He missed the burial of his Mother and Father, the opportunity to watch over the daily growth and guidance of his son. He has missed many family gatherings and holidays we shared. Because of the pandemic he has contracted Covid-19 and his safety and proper health care is a major concern. He has been denied the ability to give back, to hope, and to strive for a better life.
Due to the pandemic his chances of parole was delayed for almost a year. Finally, he went in front of the parole board but was denied parole.
Enough is Enough! Lamont needs help filing court documents and legal representation in court. Lawyers believe Lamont can be released from prison by going through the proper procedures. Please stand up for Justice, Help fund the attorney fees for Lamont.
