Free Lunch for Charlotte Area Kids

Donation protected
Fam.  I can't even begin to explain how overwhelmed I am of your support and generosity towards our sandwich program for NC youth receiving free lunches.  In just 12 hours, it's been shared over 1,200 times and reached more than 80 thousand people.  It looks like it's something our community will get behind, and collectively we can make a difference so easily.  If you can support us with a donation and let us provide the labor, together, we can make a meaningful impact.

We have a very unique situation with some skilled individuals that can help expedite this process while they are out of school, working from home, or currently having their hours cut.  I'm estimating we can feed 250 children/day while paying these awesome people for the next 2 weeks.

Guys, how cool is this community-supported concept?  Is this something you'd get behind?  If we could just raise $16,000, we can serve 250 local kids lunch for the rest of the month and write paychecks to a handful of people that otherwise wouldn't have been earning one.  I've got a great plan in place by partnering with some of the best purveyors in Charlotte to accomplish our goal of serving 3,000 lunches to Charlotte-area youth through the end of this month.

UPDATE:  Our campaign has been so successful that GoFundMe has asked us to describe how funds will be used.  That's mentioned above, but to be completely transparent, here's some more specifics.  We are transferring at least $1600 per restaurant to cover food costs and $45/day for wages incurred in labor so that each restaurant can feed 50 children/day.  We are also actively bringing on new restaurants as part of our campaign as our funds continue to grow.  We will keep a close eye on what NC decides to do if school cancellations continue past March 30th and will apply new funds towards that as needed.  We plan on announcing new participating restaurants today and will continue to add them to all future publications.

UPDATE#2:  We now have 14 locations participating serving 700 children/day.  Hoping to bring 8 new locations to start on Wednesday with your continued help.

UPDATE #3: Cuzzo's Cuisine and Empanada Queen now serving!
