**Update
As of today 17/08/23, I will be working closely with the Federation of Small Business on my project.
Training in the salon has been great but we now plan to re model and become a social enterprise and set up a community project where we will take young people from vulnerable to business owners.
The plan is huge and will take some time to set up and will require grants and funding to move things along, Jane at the FSB is going to guide me through the process and connect me with the powers that be that will help make it happen.
Excited is an understatement and when it all comes together my vision is that the project will make a huge impact on our community **
As an individual and a business I have received much support over the years for which I am eternally grateful.
Throughout my career as a stylist and especially as a small business owner I have loved helping and training others and have made it my mission over the last year to work towards achieving my teaching qualifications and to start a training academy.
I have recently affiliated with Sunshine training and offer a range of hairdressing courses at reasonable prices but am passionate about making the training available to everyone. The young people I wish to work with won’t always have funds available to pay for courses and I do no not want them to miss out.
life could have been very different for me and I owe all my thanks to my mum’s parenting and finding hairdressing. Without those two things I fear substance abuse would have become a real problem for me.
You don’t get older without learning a thing or two, I’ve had the privilege of seeing a few teenagers through some rocky times, including my own eldest daughter and I feel I have lots experience that will help me relate to young people of all backgrounds, along with this I am convinced I can show them a wonderful creative outlet, a way to earn money and give them lots of purpose and direction.
To allow me to train as many young people as possible I am raising money to buy in extra styling stations and equipment such as scissors and practice heads and product so I can accommodate more people in the salon. Any surplus funds raised will go towards the costs of training so they have no financial ties.
I have big dreams for the training side of my business which will include mindset coaching and business management. Eventually Code Red will relocate to a bigger premises more purpose built and will include many other types of training to give more young people a safe place and a positive future
I cannot express how grateful I will be for every single penny donated that will make my plans possible.
