Free Verse Farm's New Herb Drying Barn
Donation protected
Greetings from Taylor and Misha, Co-Creators of Free Verse Farm & Apothecary & the Free Verse Farm Shop in Chelsea, Vermont.
Since starting our farm in 2012, we have been working diligently and joyfully to build soil and community while producing the highest quality herbal tea blends, culinary offerings, herbal remedies, and herbal body care products that feature our own organically-grown herbs.
Demand for our products has grown steadily and significantly over the years, and as a result, we need to expand our production space! We are seeking your support as we build a new herb drying barn on our farm that will allow us to significantly increase the amount of herbal ingredients we produce, all while reducing drying time, increasing the environmental sustainability of our operation, and providing our employees with a safe and comfortable workspace for years to come.
This expansion has been in the works for many years; we even threw a poetry and music festival on our hill in 2017 to jumpstart the fundraising process! However, like many, the pandemic threw a wrench into everything and abruptly halted our farm expansion plans.
In addition, during the pandemic we took an enormous leap of faith to meet a community need: we purchased a cornerstone building in historic downtown Chelsea and opened the Free Verse Farm Shop to provide our community with a much-needed grocery store. We now offer local produce, local dairy products, local herbal products & bulk herbs, plus organic and locally-sourced groceries and pantry staples, many sourced directly from neighboring farmers and producers.
We are now back on track to grow the farm side of our business, we just need your support to help finish the project! With our recent investments in the shop, coupled with COVID-related supply chain issues and the rising prices of materials, we are in need of support to bring our project to fruition. We have taken out a loan and are funding ¾ of the project ourselves, and are now seeking $20,000 in matching support to complete the herb dryer project.
With your donation, you will be investing in an innovative, solar-powered, highly efficient herb drying barn that will allow us to provide more nourishing Free Verse Farm herbs to our community. Any amount you can give will strengthen and bolster us as we move into this exciting next phase. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
Big love,
