Hola! And greetings from all the Dominican Republic. My name is Shoshana and I have been living in the Dominican Republic for the past 9 months. If you have ever been here then you know that there are thousands of dogs that wander the streets hungry and sick.

I had no idea that I would be starting a dog rescue upon coming here but it is the best decision I have ever made. Each one of these rescues has a unique story and you can read more on our Instagram the handle is sho.shelter.

WE HAVE DONE SOME AMAZING THINGS

Negrita finally made it to the United States,
We were able to vaccinate and neuter/spay all rescues (7 in total)
Dewormed and treated all tick-born disease
EVEE had a sexually transmitted cancer and with the help of our donors she is CANCER FREE.
and the list goes on.

We are getting ready to head to the United States mid May but we 100% need support. I have personally used all of my own resources to get these guys to where we are plus some amazing donors. it has been a true miracle getting support. If I had the money myself I would just pay and get them there but I simply can’t do this alone. Cargo alone is a couple thousand all the dogs we have plus getting their final medical clearance and two more travel crates. The only way they will get to the United States is through donations. If not it simply won’t happen.

If you can give even $5.00 it is a huge help. Often times people are embarrassed and maybe think 5 dollars isn’t a lot. Well for us, it is. And every donation counts.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED MONEY FOR

cargo fee per dog (4 in total are still on the island it is 1,200-1,400 per dog (you can look it up to verify. Since this a high risk rabies country there is only one way to fly)
Medical release forms
flight nanny fee because I can legally only take 3 dogs under my name
Finish paying off rabies tests which are 450 each (only have two that we are paying off, the rest are good)
we still need crates for two of our dogs about 150 per crate (size small and medium)
