From the 4-18th November 2023, I will be doing a staged Ultramarathon in…. NEPAL!
I will be running a total of 140km over 8 days, with an elevation gain of 11,000+m, and in an altitude ranging from 800-5,200m! The race is in the mountain range that is home to the the 8th tallest mountain in the world, Manaslu
People who have done this race before have said it’s harder than the hardest ultra in the world, Marathon Des Sables, AND the infamous Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) . Having recently hiked the UTMB in June, it’s one hell of a claim!
As I'll be running in the Nepalese mountains, I wanted to give something back to the people who live there. I am raising money for an independent Nepalese charity called Freedom Social Foundation
Freedom Social Foundation is a beacon of hope for children in Nepal. They believe in the power of education, not just within the four walls of a classroom, but beyond it. They are committed to providing outdoor education to abled and differently abled children, teaching them valuable skills through activities like canyoning, backpacking, and rock climbing. However, they cannot do this alone and need your help!
Every dollar you donate goes directly towards their various initiatives. These include:
- Outdoor Education: Providing quality outdoor education to children in underprivileged communities.
- Skill Development: Teaching children valuable skills through activities like canyoning, backpacking, and rock climbing.
- Community Development: Building infrastructure in areas that lack basic amenities.
The aim is to raise 10p for each 1m climbed in elevation, which is a total of £1100. Please give what you can!
Please note...as the charity is based in Nepal, I will be collecting the money myself and will upload proof of the transfer after I have completed the race!
Thank you in advance for your support in helping underprivileged children experience the outdoors and gain valuable life skills!
