Keep them at heart: #FreedomForFarirai
Farirai Gumbonzvanda, 25, is a young female Zimbabwean social justice and girls’ rights, advocate. Fari was arbitrarily arrested, without cause, at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare by security operatives on 21 May 2019. The totally false and baseless allegations against her include intent to subvert and overthrow the constitutionally elected Government of Zimbabwe, counterintelligence, and acts of terrorism. These charges are not only false, but are completely contrary to everything Farirai is and stands for. The arrest came after applied for a training workshop in the Maldives that was offered by an organisation called CANVAS. She was accepted and she attended the workshop with 6 other civil society from Zimbabwe. All the 7 human rights defenders who attended the workshop have also been arrested and are facing similar charges.
Fari is currently remanded in custody at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison and scheduled to re-appear in court June 6, 2019 (Remains in custody at Chikurubi Maximum Prison till then).
Fari being a human rights defender and humanitarian is kindly asking you to help her provide jerseys(jumpers) and socks for her fellow inmates.

The funds raised are going to be used to buy the following items
1. 150 jerseys (jumpers)
2. 150 pair of socks
3. 150 woollen hats
I am Farirai's close friend and relative and have been given permission to mobilise funds for Farirai's cause by herself and her parents. I am raising these funds to enable Farirai's dream to help her fellow inmates come true. Once the money has been raised I will pay a service provider who has provided quotations for the jerseys (jumper), socks and woollen hats. I will pay the service provider through World Remit. I will share pictures and documentation of the funds utilised with our donors through this platform.
