Freedom For Ryan
HELP RYAN KWOLEK SUSTAIN HIS JOURNEY TOWARD REGAINING HIS LIFE, DIGNITY, AND FREEDOM.
Ryan is choosing to make the most of his time in prison by reading, praying, attending classes, and initiating programs which will help other inmates. You can probably imagine how Ryan is already lighting up the hearts and minds of others on the inside. We ask for your genuine consideration and involvement in helping to support him and set him free.
If Ryan Kwolek has made a lasting positive impact on your life, please consider activating your alliance through donating to this GoFundMe campaign. Ryan is touched by the amount of unwavering support he has received so far! He sincerely thanks each of you!
Your donations are necessary to help Ryan cover the cost of the following during his incarceration:
1. Retaining New Legal Counsel:
$5000+
The most important expense goal to meet.
Ryan's new attorney rate is $300/hour, $3K retainer covers first 10 hours of counsel. Attorney will travel to Oahu for Ryan's parole hearing where his fate and minimum term will be decided. Attorney's flight, accommodations, and rental car comes out of retainer. The rest of Ryan's attorney's game plan is being kept confidential at this time due to need for protecting Ryan's privacy as much as possible.
It can be assumed new attorney will cost a bit more than $3000.
Ideally we raise full $5000 for Ryan's new counsel. Anything left over will surely be allotted to additional financial needs listed below.
2. Commissary for 2 - 3 (?) Years:
***CURRENTLY BEING COVERED***
Unfortunately there is no crystal ball to determine how many days, months, or years Ryan will actually serve)
Ryan is learning to go without. He would be most appreciative of those who can put money on his books. He is permitted to spend $250/month maximum, commissary gets deposited every month until he is released (anywhere from 0 - 10 years). Estimated expense $7200 for 2-3 years incarcerated time.
3. Fees Incurred At Sentencing:
$1240
$800
$1000
-----------
$3040
These fees were incurred at Ryan's sentencing on 2/21/19. Upon Ryan's release he will be mandated to settle these fees.
4. GoFundMe Transaction & Service Fees:
$1000
There are both pros and cons to crowd-sourced fundraising online. On one hand we can reach many more people who want to help Ryan's cause, and more efficiently organize our efforts as a supportive collective for Ryan. On the other hand, Ryan does not get to keep and use all the money he raises.
GoFundMe will charge 2.9% fee plus $0.30 cents on every transaction made toward Ryan's campaign. We are assuming if the full $15K is raised, the 2.9% amounts to around $1K. Statistics show if a campaign raised $1,000 through 10 donations of $100 each, GoFundMe would collect about $82. The $1000 estimate for Ryan's campaign reflects this statistic.
Eternally Grateful!
Ryan Kwolek
