Fremont Feed the Homeless

Neighbors in Fremont have teamed up in our ongoing effort to help provide relief during the COVID-19 Crisis for restaurants losing business and for homeless people/shelters in need of food since March 20th. Our group is called "Fremont Feed the Homeless" on the Nextdoor Neighborhood App (learn more about what are doing: https://nextdoor.com/g/sn35z5zat/) and we have a growing following of volunteers that join and assist with our efforts through food deliveries, restaurant or homeless shelter contact information, or even through personal donations. Some restaurants we have helped partner with during this pandemic are Los Dos Gallos, Mingala Restaurant, Chaat House, Local Dominos, Zam Zam, Biriyani Bowl, Tandoori and Curry, Brindavan, and Salsa Picante. We deliver to areas where we can reach a good following of homeless people in need (such as the Irvington, Ardenwood, or Centerville areas that we are highly active in) or homeless shelters with food shortages such as Abode Services.

Money raised will go towards purchasing food and providing business to restaurants while also helping acquire hot and fresh food for those in need. Additionally, if requested, we have also been delivering masks or any emergency relief items necessary.

We are able to accomplish well-coordinated deliveries and have been sponsored by many neighbors who have paid from personal donations through the efforts and perseverance of our active members.
