Fresh Produce for Neighbors in Need
Tax deductible
In New Jersey, over 800,000 people face hunger, with 1 in 10 children being food insecure. How is this possible when we're the Garden State and have an abundance of local farms? For every dollar raised here, we can provide a serving of fresh, nutritious produce for these neighbors in need from a local farm!
The Chubby's Project, a local nonprofit in Hopewell dedicated to food justice, is partnering with Fairgrown Farm to bring fresh vegetables directly to the households who need them. We are raising funds to sponsor farm shares - weekly boxes of fresh produce directly from local farms - for any and all people in our region who need them.
One focus of ours is to work with local schools to extend this program to the families of children who rely on the school lunch programs for healthy meals. This support would bridge the gap during the summer months when children don't always have access to fresh produce, like they would in their school cafeterias. However, this program is open to everyone who could benefit from it.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, you can signup to potentially receive a sponsored farm box using our intake form here (spanish).
Fairgrown Farm is able to offer home-delivered produce to families in the following towns neighboring Hopewell: Ewing, West Windsor, Princeton Junction, Princeton, Lawrenceville, Montgomery, Pennington, Lambertville, Washington Crossing.
