FRESH START - TONE JAMIL WILLIAMS

Jamil Williams is a 16 year old young man from Topeka, KS who had attended Highland Park High School for two years.  After finishing his sophomore year at Highland Park, Jamil, not finishing as strong as he would like, noticed he was going down the wrong path and surrounded himself with people that did not have his best interest in mind. He also came to the realization that he needed to make drastic changes in his life if he wanted to become something more than being a part of the system.  Jamil wants to take a different path, take his future and life into his own hands.  He realized that this decision was a matter of life and death for him.  He has goals, dreams, and wants to be a success story.  Jamil knew the only way to do that was to leave Topeka and move to Kansas City so he could attend St. Pius X High School.  St. Pius X is a private school that has great academics, sports and will have the support he needs to be on the right path along with a group of people in the school who do have his best interest in mind and will do whatever they can to ensure his success.  Jamil knows that the road ahead of him will be difficult, it will take hard work, sacrifices and dedication to make the grades he will need to stay in this school and graduate.  He is going to redo his sophomore year so he can clean his grade point average up, and get as close to a fresh start as possible.  He has moved to Kansas City to live with his Aunt and Uncle so he can go to this school, graduate, go to college and then hopes to become a chiropractor.  This is the life Jamil dreams of and now has the opportunity to work towards it.  Unfortunately the private schools have already started and all financial aid has been given out for the year.   The cost of the school year is $8,700 and he needs this raised as soon as possible so he can start school, close the door on his past, and begin his bright future.
