Fresno Junior Monsters Squirts are going to States

The Fresno Junior Monsters ventured up to San Jose and delivered an electrifying performance! Over the course of a few intense days, they battled it out in five thrilling games and emerged victorious as the champions of NorCal! But their journey doesn't end there – now, they're gearing up to take on the top Southern California hockey clubs, and they need your support to help with mounting expense that come with extending the season. The team will have to pay for ice time to practice, all travel expenses and registration fees for the upcoming tournament. 

The team you are supporting is no ordinary youth hockey team. Located in sunny central California, hockey is already a bit of a rarity, and their journey to the California State Championships is nothing short of a modern-day David and Goliath saga. Unlike many rival junior programs backed by NHL affiliations, the Monsters operate on a shoestring budget. But what they lack in resources, they more than make up for in sheer determination and enthusiasm. 

With a rookie goalie making unbelievable saves, defenders standing strong like fortresses, and offensive players making goals that set the crowd on fire, the 10U Monsters aren't just chasing personal glory. They're a tight-knit unit fueled by their collective passion for the game. Win or lose, they're in it together. 

For these young athletes, hockey isn't just a pastime – it's a way of approaching life and learning. As the only rink and hockey club in the Northern California Central Valley, some team members travel for hours to practice, driven by their unwavering love for the sport. Coaches instill a simple yet powerful ethos: if you're not enjoying hockey, what's the point? 

Off the ice, these kids are a lively bunch, bonding over shared laughs and a mutual thirst for more hockey. You’ll find them spending extra time together on the ice at open skate times at the rink, dedicating off ice time to stick handling, roller hockey and other non-required practice time – often just for fun. Their coaches foster an environment where fun and camaraderie are a priority, recognizing that hockey isn't just about goals and wins – it's about building life skills that transcend the rink. 

And when it's game time, the 10U Monsters bring the house down with their infectious team spirit. They rally the crowd, igniting cheers and chants that shake the stands and echo throughout the arena. It's an unforgettable spectacle, marked by a sea of green and black pom-poms, homemade signs, and enthusiastic supporters.
