Fridge for Kai
Donation protected
Hello! Our friendly neighbourhood Kai is in need of a new fridge freezer, and I really hope we can help him get one!
Kai's household these days consists of themself (a lovely, generous and kind disabled queer) and three kids, one of whom he fosters and all of whom are excellent. If you know anything about kids, especially teenagers (which they all are, or nearly are), you know how much they eat: approximately an infinite amount. Unfortunately, to store an approximately infinite amount of food, you need a pretty large fridge freezer and Kai's... Isn't. This means he's having to expend a lot of energy on more frequent shops, which is not energy he has to spare when they're already having to balance the additional needs of themself and the kids. Plus, the worrying about what food he can fit and when there's gonna be a chance/the energy to get more food, it's just extra stress that you really don't want when you've got so much on your plate all the time. I'm not saying a suitably sized freezer would solve all his problems, but it would be a good start, eh?
The target for this is set at £1000, based on some preliminary research into the cost of a new fridge freezer from reputable shops and accounting for the fees from the fundraiser. Why new, you ask? Well, first off, we all deserve nice things occasionally. But more importantly, a new fridge freezer from a shop is more likely to be energy efficient, cutting down energy bills which are already ridiculous these days. It's also likely to last longer, making it more cost effective for Kai in the long run, and last but not least, it puts less pressure on Kai to go digging about the thousands of sites for a secondhand one, then figure out how to get it to theirs and then figure out how to arrange disposal of the old one - most appliance companies will do all of that for you! That way, Kai can put more energy into what matters; looking after himself and raising those excellent kids of his.
Funds will be delivered directly to Kai, so please if you can, bung some money his way to help with this. And if you can't (because we're all poor these days), please share far and wide and let's help Kai chill (his food)!
