Friend Schools eSports Program
Donation protected
Friend School, in hopes of including more students in extra-curricular activities, has recently started the eSports program. This program will offer students the opportunity to compete against other schools in various video game tournaments. As in other sports, students will be required to maintain eligibility and attendance requirements. Friend School is excited to offer this program and has had an abundance of interest from the students however, as a Title 1 school, there is not a lot of funding that can be put towards this program. We, as parents and community members, are asking the community, whether it be friends, family, or the gaming community, to please consider donating any amount to this program. No amount is too small, as everything helps us towards our goal. Furthermore, donations of TVs, XBOX ONE consoles, PlayStation 4 or 5 consoles, headsets and extra remote controls are also being accepted. All donations will be collected with full transparency and immediately donated to the Friend School eSports program.
Several Oklahoma universities offer eSports programs, such as the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and the University of Central Oklahoma, just to name a few. Nationwide, over 200 colleges and universities offer eSports programs and offer partial or full-ride scholarships. In previous years, more than $16 million in scholarships have been awarded to eSports students per year.
Thank you for supporting this program, Friend School, and investing in the future of Friend Falcon students!
