Friends and Family Helping Julie Beat Cancer

Our dear friend, Julie Varnish, was just preparing to finish up immunotherapy treatments next month after beating breast cancer. After a MRI on Friday, we are devastated to say that it showed 7 lesions on her brain. The cancer metastasized and spread to her brain and she needs the best treatment available now.

As you can imagine, Julie, her family and doctors were shocked after being so happy to have beat the breast cancer!

Julie’s team of doctors made a new plan that involves targeted radiology to those lesions and then a new type of chemo that can get into the brain to fight it (sometimes traditional chemo had a hard time getting into the brain so these cells were probably hiding in there because the other chemo couldn’t get to it ). There is a trial that her doctors HIGHLY recommended, but it is in Boston and will require flying back and forth, as well as all of the expenses with travel. This is her best shot at life and she desperately wants to be able to receive the most promising treatment available, but she needs our help!!

This is not at all what she thought was in the cards for her at this point…she was very much looking forward to a normal summer with Jason, Addie and Jack, getting hair extensions, traveling and making a beach trip, but now she will be back in treatment and is ready to fight for Round 2.

Julie is asking everyone to pray for her; she wants nothing more than to grow old and she needs all the positivity and help she can get!! We know that Julie is the FIRST person to lend a helping hand when someone is in need, so let’s all do what we can and ease the financial burden she is facing so she can focus on beating this and getting into remission! At this point, her main need is money. Her first flight to Boston is this Wednesday; they are moving quickly!
