Friends for Life United for a Cause – 2023 Noche Buena
(Founders: Maricar, Millie, Leah, Connie, Mariza & Sonny along with our respective spouses)
Approximately 50 years ago, a bunch of fun and giggly high school students met. Little did we know that we will board all together on a beautiful ship named “BFF Friendship”. Along the course, we danced, laughed, built families and traveled to various places. We mostly cruise on calm waters but surely had some mild storms and heavy waves yet we all managed to hang on tight to our ship and stood the test of time.
On our 2022 annual gathering, we agreed to give back the blessings we are continually receiving by providing a Noche Buena for 90 sick children and their families at West Visayas State University Medical Center (WVSMC) in IloIlo City, Philippines. Noche Buena is a cherished Filipino Christmas Eve tradition, where families gather for a festive meal typically at their homes. This tradition had led us to consider those sick children who are in the hospital. Little did we know that this simple act of kindness gave so much joy and happiness to the children.
During this coming holiday season, let us share our blessings by sponsoring the “Noche Buena Project” for the sick children and their family at the WVSMC of Iloilo City. Your gift and support will touch many hearts. Our final deadline to help is on December 1st 2023 to ensure ample time for planning, ordering and execution of meals on Noche Buena. A $50.00 donation will feed a family of 5.
Our friendship of 50 years is a testament to the strength of the connections we've built over the years. It is only fitting that we channel this collective strength towards creating a brighter and more heartwarming Christmas for those in need.
We thank you for your generosity and compassion. God bless you and your family always!
