Support the Landerer Family after Losing Home to Fire

Dear reader,

One of my best friends, Anton Landerer, lost his Altadena home to the Eaton fire today. It’s the home that he grew up in, and one that held countless memories for us, his friends, too. We were devastated when Anton sent the photo that is the cover of this fundraiser- and can’t begin to imagine how he and his family felt.

The Landerer family is pictured above. Anton’s dad, Felix (right), is an Earth scientist, and his mom, Birthe (left), works in an elementary school. Tilda, his sister, is in her first year of high school. And their cat Pepper (pictured in the cover) is, in their words, the family’s chief peacock-overseer.

My name is Adrian, and I’m a college sophomore from Pasadena, California. I’ve known Anton since I moved here in middle school; in this new, unfamiliar place, he was one of the first people to welcome me, and become my friend. Now in college studying computer engineering, Anton is whip-smart: always the first to solve a formidable science or math problem. His humor can alleviate any tension; his bold rock climbing moves make us all hold our breath; and his generosity reminds me why I’m so lucky to be his friend.

The tragedy afflicting LA county has stunned us; all I ask for now is your sympathy and support. All proceeds will go to Anton and his family, to help them start anew. Every dollar helps.
