Friends of DeBorah

In late August, our dear friend DeBorah was driving a friend’s car back from Kelowna to Vancouver when she suffered a full head-on collision when an oncoming car drifted into her lane on a curvy mountainside road.
Her door had to be cut away to get her out and the paramedics didn’t know if she would survive. DeBorah has suffered multiple broken bones throughout her body. She has already had two surgeries and due for more. She will remain in ICU at VGH for many months. She has awareness when awake but has suffered immense trauma. She is not taking visitors.
She has a very long road ahead of her. Five months in hospital plus a year of rehabilitation. For all of you that know her, remember the caring friend who showed up and fiercely had your back, who was one of the biggest supporters of the local music scene and beyond, who committed to the loving care of her aging mother and her dog, who had to move out of a home she lived in for well over a decade when it went up for sale, and countless other challenges - remember who she was when she spotted you across the room, when she comforted you when you were down, and all the support and good she did with love, ferocity and tenderness. So much.
Our community is absolutely devastated at her current circumstances and want to assist her on a road of a best case recovery.
Funds will be used to support her healthcare, rehabilitation and trauma therapy. There is a small network of us (Shelby Lewis, Jenn Chycoski, Joy Rain, Michelle Elle Dread) working behind the scenes to manage the funds and assist her on her road to recovery.
This is really important. She is so precious and we have faith she is getting the best of care to land on her feet again.
Thank you
