Friends of Ferals, Long Island, NY (cat rescue)
Donation protected
We are a group of retired women that saw a need for someone to help unwanted, sick and starving cats that are struggling in our neighborhoods. Our Town Shelters may concern themselves with stray dogs but there is no compassion or help offered for these unfortunate animals. These animals are the forgotten ones.
Our mission is Trap, Neuter and Release (TNR) these strays, however, if we discover a friendly abandoned cat, we find them a Forever Home. For cats that are fearful of humans, we maintain a Feral Colony in a beautiful, wooded area in Eastern Long Island that is owned by a compassionate animal lover. Our colony has housing and volunteers that feed each day and become loving guardians of their health and welfare.
Our group has the heart and desire to do the work but we are frequently depleted of funds despite our many fundraising efforts. Since all the cats we catch get neutered, vaccinated, and have medical treatment for any injuries or diseases they suffer this becomes a VERY costly - but necessary- undertaking.
Over the years our group has rescued, rehabilitated, and has found safe places to live for hundreds of abandoned cats and kittens. Your donation allows us to continue and expand our work. If you can see their pain and suffering replaced by a thriving, healthy existence, you would understand why we are so passionate about our work. A donation in any amount would truly help us reach our goal. Please share this link with people you know that love animals. Thank you!
