Friends of First Church, Oklahoma City

Above all, we ask that you join us in praying for First Church, that God will bless and grant favor in this process so that they might quickly return to focusing solely on the ministry that they are called to in downtown Oklahoma City.

First Church has voted to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church. They are required to provide an exit fee by July 28th to be held in escrow until the annual conference vote is held in August. The Disaffiliation Exit Fee is over $200,000. Our heart is to come alongside First Church to help them with this fee. Any unused funds given for this effort will be utilized to further support the current ministries of First Church.

We are asking you to prayerfully consider how you can help maintain the heritage of 134 years on the corner of 4th and Robinson. First Church has always been an evangelical church where Jesus Christ was lifted up and the ministry of the Holy Spirit was never quenched. First Church has been a church where grace was proclaimed and received. We hope to help them continue ministry on that corner, a very special and holy place, where we believe God wants a church to continue to preach the uncompromised Word of God.
