Friends of Gavin, Christina, Jordan and Eli

Gavin Hayes is a man that wears many hats - some of you may know him as the husband of Christina, the father to Jordan (14) and Eli (11), a Battalion Chief of the Geneva Fire Department, a friend or even a neighbor. As a first responder and an army helicopter pilot, he has selflessly risked his life on countless occasions to help many members of our community and country live through their most difficult and vulnerable moments.

For the past three years, Gavin has been fighting for his own life with Stage 4 Lymphatic Cancer. His official diagnosis is T-Cell Histiocyte Rich Large B cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma which is a rare and aggressive form of the disease. It is in Gavin’s blood to fight, but the battle with cancer has recently taken a turn for the worse. Although we continue to pray for a miracle, doctors have told him he has weeks to live. With all the emotional pain and stress that this diagnosis brings, there are financial burdens as well. As a humble man, Gavin (and his family) never ask for help. Thus, we are reaching out to ask for support from the community that he has positively impacted and served for the past 20+ years. Funds raised will go to cover several house projects– i.e. repairs to the roof, fixing an A/C leak, installing a new water heater, maintenance on his wife’s car, etc…
