Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. Today, I'm reaching out with a heavy heart but also with hope and determination. Our dear friend, John Repulski, is facing one of the most challenging times of his life, and he needs our support more than ever.
As many of you know, John, a talented church musician, has been struggling with chronic pain, compounded by the loss of his job during the pandemic. In his search for relief, he found himself battling addiction, a path that has led him to seek help at the Ashley Treatment Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
John has been granted a precious opportunity to participate in a specialized program aimed at helping individuals like him manage chronic pain and overcome addiction. This program spans 35 days, during which he will receive intensive care and support. However, the financial burden associated with this treatment is significant, and John cannot shoulder it alone.
Here are the crucial numbers:
The total cost of John's treatment is $39,900. Thanks to a generous scholarship, this amount has been reduced to $21,000.
Thankfully, we have received a wonderful pledge from an angel donor, who has agreed to contribute $5,000 upon John's entry into the program and another $5,000 upon completion. Additionally, we have another generous donation covering $1,000.
There is an immediate need for $5,544 to provide John with a Certified Nurses Aid, for essential care and support, particularly in the first week of his program.
Total care deficit, after gifts, is currently $15,544.
While we work to ensure John receives the treatment he desperately needs, we are also looking ahead to his recovery journey beyond the program. Our goal is to provide him with additional resources totaling $15,000, which will help him rebuild his life and regain his independence.
John has shown incredible resilience, and he is determined to turn his life around. He has already taken steps to create a safe and stable environment for himself and his beloved dog, Carly. But he cannot do this alone.
In addition to financial contributions, John would greatly appreciate letters and notes of encouragement. If you'd like to send him your well wishes or explore other ways to support him, please reach out to [email redacted].
Friends, our collective support can make all the difference in John's journey to recovery. Let's come together and show him the love, compassion, and strength of our community. Every contribution, whether big or small, will make a profound impact on his life.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support during this challenging time.
With heartfelt gratitude,

You can send support in one of two ways
1. Church on the Square has a fund for RECOVERY. This is the church that John helped found nearly a decade ago. The resources shared to this fund will first be distributed to John’s recovery program and then to rebuilding his life.
https://onrealm.org/CotSBaltimore/give/now - Choose Recovery from the fund list.
2. Jennifer and Dan DeMello-Johnson are being stewards of John’s GoFundMe account while he is focusing on his health. The monies will also be used first for recovery and then for rebuilding.
John was keen to provide options for giving and wanted all to know that gifts are being audited by multiple friends and will be sure to go where intended.
