Be the ragweed…. She said
”Ragweed might not be the nicest to look at darling, but it’s strong…. And can’t be stopped.”
On New Year’s Eve 2021 Lisa Murphy Ochoa’s body set the hands of a silent clock who’s gears can now be heard ticking. A malignant brain tumor…. A diagnosis that no one should ever receive. The family took in this news, absorbed it and started an 8 month and counting journey. Through the generosity of friends and family, through precise budgeting, through rearranging and extreme planning - so much has helped slow time…. Has helped give HER more time with…. US. A ramp was built, medical bills were paid, nurses put into place, food on the table and bills covered.
8 months and a clock. But she taught me to Be The Ragweed and it just can’t be stopped. Not yet. The hands are still keeping time.
A dollar or two seems so small, but my dollars and yours…. Right now they will allow the around the clock nurses that are desperately needed to continue their stay. They will keep the medicine coming that will hold things back. They will pay down the mountain of bills and allow breathing room.
Lisa is a wife, mother, sister, daughter…. But for me, she is a friend. Any amount, no matter the size, will help. Thank you so very much for your generosity. Thank you for the gift of time.
Just a note that Richard Murphy is Lisa's brother. He is handling the finances, so as to keep them separate from the organizers, to promote good fiscal practices. All the donations will go to Lisa. Thank you all so much.
