Friends Of Nicky Hayes Fundraiser
Donation protected
As many of you might know, our dear friend Nicky has endured a prolonged period of poor health in recent years. Nicky lives in Tramore with his wife Sandra. Their two children Adam and David also live locally.
Nicky is, and always has been a prominent member of our community and a proud Tramore man. He was a stalwart of Tramore GAA Hurling and football teams of the 80’s and 90’s winning honours from u16 to junior Hurling to senior football. Nicky also represented the county in both Junior and Senior football. Nicky was always a very whole-hearted player on the field and great fun to be around off the field. In recent years Nicky has also been heavily involved in St Paul’s Pigeon club and was an active member prior to his illness.
As a young man, Nicky joined Waterford Crystal where he dedicated 27 years of his life as a skilled glassblower in K2. Throughout his lifetime Nicky was an extremely hard-working man and in more recent years he managed his own garden maintenance business.
In 2020 Nicky developed an undiagnosed blood condition which has led to severe complications. As clotting is the main issue, he has experienced numerous setbacks such as heart attack, stroke, loss of sight and multi organ deficits. Nicky was admitted to hospital on June 5th and is still there now.
Our fundraiser is to raise funds so that we can help get Nicky home. This will involve adapting his house in Tramore to allow Nicky to return home and be as comfortably as possible. This fundraiser is also so vital for the family as Nicky will not be able to return to work.
We know many of his friends, old work colleagues, former team members want to reach out and help Nicky get home to his family
