Help Friends of Peel Park reopen Peelers' Cafe after arson

Hello, my name is Janet and I have been a volunteer with Friends of Peel Park in Bradford for 20 years. For the last eight of those years our group has been fortunate to be given the use of a small building in Peel Park to open as a community cafe. For those years we have opened every weekend (barring those when heavy snow has prevented us) and welcomed people to a warm and friendly place for 4 hours every Saturday and every Sunday. Our small team of volunteers work hard and thoroughly enjoy our time while at the cafe, and also behind the scenes when we may be cleaning, restocking, and baking. All of the profits from sales go back into the park, and that can be by fully funding or partially funding events in Peel Park, and consulting patrons of the park and cafe for ideas on things they want to see in the park. We have been able to add more picnic tables, more plants, a totem trail, a trim trail, nest boxes, hedgehog homes. Our most recent project has been to replace the old worn out gym equipment. There are so many other things we have achieved over those years, but Peelers Cafe has been at the heart of all of this. In the early hours of the 2nd of December, the cafe was broken into. The place was ransacked, looted and set on fire. All the volunteers want to get back to opening the cafe, and from the responses on social media so do our lovely patrons.
