Charlotte takes on Tough Mudder for Friends of PICU

I am raising money in aid of Friends of PICU and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this charity, it is important for myself and my family.

This charity is very close as they supported my brother as a baby when he was seriously ill. When 2 months old he was in the paediatric intensive care unit, they supported not only my brother but also my parents through this tough time.

After years of fundraising from my parents, including jumping out of planes and abseiling down the spinnaker tower, I thought it should be my turn to raise money for friends of PICU.

On August 10th, I'm going to compete in Tough Mudder, a 10 miler including 30+ obstacle in Gloucestershire in order to raise money for friends of PICU charity. I've been training for a while and hope this race is the first of many!

More information about Friends of PICU: The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital Southampton is the regional specialist 16 bed ward for Southern England and the Channel Islands. 1000 Critically ill Children, new born to 18years of age are admitted each year and cared for 24 hours a day with 1to1 nursing. The Friends of PICU supports these children and their families by providing vital equipment and services not provided by the statutory authorities and creating a suitable environment for the children to be cared within.
