Sanga Of-The-Valley - with L to R...Olympia Ward, Rosemarie Ceraso, John Ward - Earthbeat performance at the Rosendale Theater, NY
Friends of Master Drummer and Percussionist extraordinaire Sanga-Of-The-Valley are raising funds to assist our beloved Teacher and talented musician during these trying times.
Many remember Sanga from the decades of performing as lead djembe player for Babatunde Olatunji and the Drums of Passion. As well as Gabrielle Roth's Mirrors and the 5 Rhythms international community. Along with dozens of well known artists and musical venues during the last 40 plus years of his service to the global community.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago and living in New York, as a full time artist/musician Sanga has been particularly challenged these last month's of the country's shutdown whereas venues have been closed globally. Due to his inability to collect government subsidies Sanga has been existing by the Grace of Jah. Now that we are going into our 9th month of shut downs Sanga is reaching out to the thousands of students and followers over the years for help and support.
In addition to his arrears in rent, food and day to day expenses Sanga has been working on his latest CD and would love to get it wrapped. Though times are challenging for most, any help provided Sanga would be appreciated towards his goal. And for us to be able to enjoy his talents once again.
All proceeds go to Sanga. There is no amount too small. As a gift in return, any donations of $100 or more would receive his earlier CD Music From the Middle Passage; a Tribute to the African Ancestors.
Please help if you can. As Sanga would say .... Jah Bless. Peace, Gratitude and Love…
