Many of you know me as the Maverick Archaeologist  who has traveled the world exploring our ancient past and searching for hidden mysteries. I have been on some amazing archaeological explorations climbing Mt. Ararat in 2013 searching for Noah's Ark to the discovery of a new Dead Sea Scroll cave in Qumran in 2017 making international news & headlines such as The Discovery Channel and National Geographic.

Others know me as a flight medic; buzzing the skies via airplanes & helicopters saving lives on the front line of medicine.

Over the last 3 months, I noticed some odd neurological symptoms causing numbness in my left foot. I have since lost almost complete feeling down my left leg as well.  A recent MRI of my lower back shows 90% obstruction of my nerve in L5 S1. This is not from an injury, rather a congenital condition in which some particular bones of the vertebrae never developed for some reason.  Over time, this has worsened causing my lower vertebrae to put constant pressure on my spinal nerve.

I have undergone alternative modalities to help manage the symptoms. Unfortunately, my symptoms are now severe and will require an unexpected but needed lower back surgery to correct on November 14th (update- Nov. 21st).   After much thought and consideration, I have decided surgery is the best course of action for me.

As a result, I will require some extended time off work. While I do have major medical insurance that will cover 80% of the medical costs, there is a 20% gap requiring out of pocket medical expenses not including a $4k deductible requirement.  This is why I have decided to reach out for your assisatnce.  I am asking for your help to cover this 20% gap.

For those that are interested, I am considering giving a free, autographed copy of Finding Noah on DVD or a promo code to see my latest film for free "Qumran 2 Petra " streaming on Vimeo for any donation amount.   However, it is available online now for $3.95 for immediate viewing that supports the film.

I am so grateful for any donation amount to help meet this unexpected medical expense.

Lastly, I am very thankful for my followers, friends and family who have supported my archaeological quests for new discoveries and to you for all of your encouragement.

Looking forward to a full & complete recovery so I can get back doing what I do best- archaeologist by day; flight medic by night!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

As my good friend LA Marzulli says- I can't wait to get back "on the trail"!  Good things are coming for 2020!
