Our dear friend, Tim Turner, an artist in the garden, in the kitchen, and more recognized in the painting and clay studio... needs our help.

In late Fall of 2021, Tim and his beloved Michele moved to Winston-Salem to quietly treat his Tongue and Lymph Node Cancer at Baptist Hospital with radiation and chemotherapy. In May 2022 he was deemed healthy and cancer free. This treatment for HPV cancer is 95% effective. Unfortunately, Tim fits in the 5%. He had returned to the painting studio when a pain surfaced under his tongue. A Pet Scan determined his cancer had returned. Now he is back on a journey to eradicate this tumor.

Following an exhaustive trip to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, the current plan of action begins March 14 with chemo in 3-week intervals in Houston to reduce the tumor, hopefully along with immunotherapy. Surgery will follow to remove part of the tongue, a 2nd surgery to repair the tongue, followed by physical therapy and "tongue aerobics" as he put it. Tim has a long and arduous road ahead, but he is certainly a man up for the challenge! This will entail extensive travel expenses (airplane flights, hotels, food, taxis, parking, etc.) to Houston, not to mention extensive medical expenses. If we can relieve him of part of the financial burden, we can perhaps provide him with the peace and equilibrium to manifest his healing, and get back to the studio so he can add more beauty to the world!
