Tommy Hally (49) suffers from Stage 4 Sarcoidosis which is an inflammatory disease that has affected his lungs.  He can no longer work and requires an oxygen tank to assist his breathing.  His condition is irreversible and even with medical treatment, will continue to worsen over time.  Although he is potentially a candidate for a lung transplant, it is still an uphill battle.

Tommy is the husband to Tara and Dad to three beautiful children, Madison, Maeve and Andrew.  He has worked in the Local 17 Union for over 30 years.  Tommy has always been a hard worker and has provided a safe, secure and loving home for his family.  He has a big heart which he wears on his sleeve.  Tommy’s tough love, kindness, thoughtfulness and loyalty has made him wealthy with family and friends.

Tommy has had many accomplishments in life but there is no greater accomplishment than his 3 children.  Raising children is not an easy job but Tommy has done it with such grace.  He fathered with a balance of love, discipline, patience, respect, listening and communication with his children that shines through all their personalities today.  He is a proud Dad who has always been there for his children.  Not much can make Tommy emotional but when he looks at his children, the smile and sparkle in his eyes beam with pride.

No matter the time of year, Tommy loved having company.  His door was always opened and you’d always be greeted with a warm welcome.  Whether it be hosting a Thanksgiving morning football game, an end of the summer ‘Hally Alley’ wiffleball tournament or Football Sunday at his house, Tommy was always ready to create memories while having some laughs.

It all seems like yesterday when Tommy was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis but years have passed and Tommy’s condition has only gotten worse.  His lack of energy, difficulty breathing and increased risk of catching an infection has made all life’s fun filled activities a thing of the past and now just fond memories.

Tommy’s condition is so severe that even simple daily tasks take a lot of energy for him to complete.  He has been hospitalized twice this year and most recently with a collapsed lung.  Tommy’s hospitalization has resulted in missed family milestones like his daughter, Maeve’s, high school graduation.  The unexpected hospital visits, doctors’ appointments and missed family memories will be Tommy and his family’s foreseeable future.

The eyes that were once welcoming now look at you in desperation and fear for the unknown.

Tommy would never ask for anyone’s help but he’d always be the first to be front and center to help anyone in need.  It’s our turn to be here for Tommy, Tara, Madison, Maeve and Andrew.

The future is unknown but what is known is that Tommy will not be able to work and medical bills as well as personal bills have already started piling up.  All gifts are greatly appreciated and will be used to help Tommy and his family as they navigate this new journey in their life.

Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Family and Friends of Tommy Hally & Family
