Friends that are Family

We are looking to support our beautiful friend Tarryn Lucas, her husband Russ and their eldest daughter, 2-year-old Evie during their relocation to Sydney so their baby #2 can receive urgent medical care over the next 3-4 months.

The latest update from Tarryn:

"As you have probably heard at our 20 week scan we got told that baby is healthy and fine however a mass on the side of the head/ neck has developed and it wasn't there 5 weeks ago at a 15 week scan we had. For now this mass will continue to grow as baby grows. A very rare case 1 in 40,000.

To say the past 6 weeks have been easy would be a lie. It's been a tad challenging. We have now had multiple trips to Sydney seeing some of Australia's top specialists, surgeons, neonatologists, midwife's and maternal foetal medicine Teams who are all truly AMAZING in their roles. We are so lucky here in Australia!!

We have now established a strong team behind us to support us on the journey ahead whatever it may be.. Baby will need surgery within days of being born to remove the mass and we have now been told to Re locate our little family to Sydney from 32 weeks which is in 5 weeks' time. We will stay there until bubs born and then thereafter for surgery and recovery for baby.

Please be brave with us and send your positive thoughts and prayers our way- we need them!

***Please note - Tarryn is now at 34 weeks on Tuesday 7/2 and relocated to Sydney at 32 weeks.

Where our Fundraising will assist Tarryn and her family:

Tarryn and family will be required to stay in rental accommodation in Sydney for potential 3-4 months so that they are close to the medical specialists for the new baby

Our fundraising will help with living away from home costs including rent, travel costs and lost income.

Tarryn has been a strong and positive influence in our local community through her business and as local Merimbula identity through some very trying times such as the Bush fires, COVID, and even the resurrection of the NYE Fireworks display in Merimbula this year – her reach, generosity, empathy and connectedness to our community has been nothing short of an inspiration!

This is our chance to reciprocate her kindness, generosity and compassion and to give back to a lady who always gives so much to others.
