On August 5, 2021, Jackie received the devastating and shocking news of being diagnosed with HER2+,  stage III, grade 3+ invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer.

After multiple tests she received additional bad news. She has a total of three her 2+ tumors one which is rather large but 4.5 cm, the other two, one is in the same left breast and three small ones in her left lymph nodes. She consulted with several oncologist all of which had the same treatment plan was which was to receive the most aggressive form of chemo. She was to receive chemo for six cycles, every 21 days, to shrink the tumors the chemo drugs include, Taxotere, the new drug which was discovered only five years ago, plus and Cytotaxin, Herceptin, Perjeta plus at least 6 other drugs to prevent the cancer from returning after all the treatments in the plan which further include, then a full double mastectomy, and then she’ll have radiation and stay on the other drugs for 3 to 5 years.

The oncologist treatment plan was very aggressive, intensive and needed to start immediately. Five years ago when a person was diagnosed with this exact breast cancer there was no cure it was 100% death rate was approximately 5 -10 years. This miracle drug was is called Taxotere.

Jackie was ready to take this treatment on like a champ! She was so excited there was a cure and she was going to kick its butt!!

She began her 1st chemo treatment on September 15th.

This first chemo was tough, she was extremely sick the entire 21 days.

Immediately after she received her second chemo treatment, on Oct. 6th, where she was infused with Taxotere, (the new miracle cure drug). She was then rushed to the hospital immediately. Where she was treated for 25 days.

During her lengthy hospital stay she fought and endured.  First when she got to the hospital she couldn’t breathe at all. They diagnosed her with complete respiratory failure which is a condition that will require her to be on oxygen the rest of her life. Then The second major problem was that she was diagnosed with poly-neuropathy. Which basically means she was stuck in a bubble. She couldn’t feed herself, move herself she couldn’t talk she couldn’t breathe, couldn’t feed herself, couldn’t swallow and the list goes on and on.

Upon discharge, (Nov.2nd) The doctors informed her that  the intense allergy to Taxotere (the miracle cure drug) is so severe that if she continues on it, the Taxotere will kill her faster than the HER+ Cancer would. It’s ironic that the only drug that will save her life will kill her faster than anything. There no more chemo that will kill it, so therefore she’s terminal. She was sent home with Hospice Home Care and told She had 6 mos or less to live. Since her release from the hospital she has stopped at nothing to get better and get better every day. She has seen a pulmonologist to improve the strength of her lungs therefore needing less and less oxygen, but unfortunately she’ll never get off of the oxygen.  A homeopathic doctor that has me on a lot of supplements that will help strengthen her liver, her kidneys, everything that the chemo tried to  destroy in her.  She has an appointment with her neurologist next month to see what they can do anything about the pain from the neuropathy and her eyesight that was damaged by the chemo as well, and a cardiologist to see why her pulse goes from dangerously low to dangerously high. She walks almost every day to keep her strong. She has refused a wheel chair anymore and just takes her time. She is an inspiration to everyone who sees how far she has come, she has no doubt she will make it years with all the hard work she puts in, I wouldn’t doubt her!

Presently her days are filled with resting, visiting many specialists, a complicated drug regiment for pain. Jackie‘s main concern is the cost of these specialists, drugs and supplements that are not covered by insurance and are very expensive. Her oxygen equipment and supplies are her major worry as without them, she will not survive without 24/7 oxygen. This equipment that she needs is also not covered. Her family has supported her financially, but now it’s essential to ask for assistance.

Her one desire is to have some quality of life to spend with her mom, sister, niece and all her friends. With the support of all of  us, prayers and God‘s blessing it will give her the courage and stamina to live day by day. She maintains a positive attitude and hopeful spirit! She wants to Thank you in advance for your support.
