Friends of Nadya

In 2000, Nadya came to the U.S. for her surgical needs, joining our family, neighborhood, and community. As most of you know, she went on to complete her education at the National University of Uzbekistan.

 

Recently, during our weekly conversations with her, she shared with us her urgent need for medical care. As most of you know, she suffers from a lifelong genetic disorder,  Neurofibromatosis – tumors growing along the nerves and affecting many parts of her body. Her tumors grow constantly and need to be regularly removed as they can block vital functions of the body. In Nadya’s case the tumors grow on her face compressing the blood vessels and interrupting the blood supply to her brain.

 

She is in urgent need of another surgery because the growing tumor is currently compressing her airways making it difficult to breathe and also causing high blood pressure.

 


Nadya is scheduled to have her surgery in early October, if she is able to raise the funds necessary. We hope to be able to cover her surgical and hospital stay expenses.  Our goal is $10,000 and we hope you can help us achieve this as soon as possible so that Nadya is able to make all necessary arrangments.
