Frivolous Lawsuit by KCMO vs Small Local Gunshop

We are being sued in a civil lawsuit by the City of Kansas City, Mo and Michael Bloombergs Everytown USA Law Firm. They are accusing us of knowingly transferring firearms to a KC Fire Department Captain, who at later dates sold Firearms that he had acquired LEGALLY from our gunshop and others local gunshops to a felon.
We did in fact transfer Firearms to the KCFD Fireman legally, after he filled out the ATF 4473 Paperwork and passed a FBI NICS Background check as required by Federal Law.
We HAD NO knowledge that after the KCFD Captain left our place of business where he went or who he associated with after leaving our shop.
I spent over 25 years in Law Enforcement including 7 years serving my Country as a K9 handler in the USAF, 14 years working for the Platte County Sheriffs Department as a Road Patrolman, was promoted to Detective and was part of the Kansas City Metro Squad Team, I was also a Teamleader of the SRT Teams Entry Team. Lead Firearms Instructor and Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor.
In 2001 I answered our Country's need after 9/11. I became a United States Federal Air Marshal and was assigned to fight Terrorism both Nationally and Internationally. I held a Top Secret Security Clearance.
Not one time in over 25 years have a broken a law, looked the other way to let somebody else bend or break the law. I have always done the right thing. As I was doing when my shop transferred legal firearm(s) to the KCFD Captain.
We also assisted the ATF in the entire investigation regarding the KCFD Captain.

We would like to set a presidence in Kansas City and across our Nation that it is not ok to use a frivolous lawsuit for political gain as the Mayor of Kansas City Mo is doing.
Mission Ready Gunworks stands ready to fight back against unlawful aggression, harassment, and intimidation by the City of Kansas City regarding baseless accusations of facilitating the unlawful activities of former Kansas City Fire Captain James Samuels. Mission Ready Gunworks is a proud supporter of the 2nd Amendment and lawful business operator. Interference from outside lobby groups, namely Everytown USA as supported in large part by political Candidate Michael Bloomberg should be considered the outright partisan and political statement and sham it is.
Mission Ready Gunworks stand ready to fully cooperate in demonstrating its lawful standing and activities, and prepared to explore any counterclaim it may have against the City of Kansas City for its baseless accusation. Mayor Quinton Lucas should be ashamed of his so called “creative” deflection of the responsibility Kansas City’s failure to supervise its employee.
