Froese Family
Our sister, Rachel and her children; Angelisse (18), Justus (16), Raine (14) and Connelly (11) are facing challenges that no family should have to endure alone. Their beloved husband and father Keith was diagnosed in September of 2020 with mesothelioma, a rare form of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Keith battled through chemo treatments and immunotherapy hoping to be there for his family for as long as possible. Keith’s strength ran out and the cancer took him away on July 16, 2021, at the age of 47.
In March of 2021, while Keith’s battle with cancer advanced, Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to have a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and soon will have radiation treatments. Despite his own discomfort with treatments, Keith was there for Rachel while she dealt with her chemotherapy.
This is not Rachel’s first battle with cancer as she had osteosarcoma when she was 18, which resulted in her leg being amputated. Rachel is unable to work at this time as she is continuing treatments for breast cancer over the coming months. Even before Keith and Rachel’s cancer they lived on a fixed income. We are all very concerned for the stress Rachel is now under to provide for her children on a long-term basis.
Keith was a pastor for over 18 years and was currently pastoring at Calmar Community Baptist Church in Calmar, Alberta dedicating his life to helping and serving his community, his church, his friends, and family.
While the loss of a husband and father is devastating enough, to have the family crippled even further with the remaining parent facing long term cancer treatments is an unspeakably sad cruelty.
Our goal is to provide financial assistance to Rachel and her family. After years of selflessly serving others and forgoing financial security, we are looking to the community to help this family overcome some financial hurdles. We believe that by taking away this burden Rachel will be able to focus on overcoming her own battle with cancer. We want Rachel to be able to be there for her children and not concerned about how she will provide for their needs. We would like to provide the family with time to grieve the loss of their father and husband without the constraints and stress of their finances.
The Froese family has been burdened with so much this last year and our hearts break for all that they have suffered. This family has always put others first. This giving and generous family is in need of being blessed in return. The hardships they have experienced we can’t even begin to understand or comprehend. But this family stands strong, relying not only on each other but most of all their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who stands with them and lifts them up through it all. As much as your financial support will fill a great and immediate need for them, the help that will be long lasting would be your prayers for strength, courage, hope and peace.
We thank you for considering a blessing for the Froese family during this difficult time.
