Frog Hollow Farm-Kid’s Space

Donation protected
Calling on all Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Caregivers, and Community Members within the Walla Walla Valley and beyond, to participate in a unique opportunity that will support families, provide education, care for the environment, and promote connection and gathering.

Who wouldn’t want that?

But first, here’s my story:
I am Bre, a mom of a busy two-year-old. My husband and I, both natives of Walla Walla, have recently moved back, excited to serve our community. As I began to reacquaint myself with Walla Walla, I felt a lack of kid-friendly spaces, with the options I desired. In our prior city, we were lucky to have a local co-op a few miles from our home, with the coolest kid’s area! What stuck out to me was it was a space that provided safety, eats and treats, kid, and stroller-friendly bathrooms, and ample room to play! I wondered, could I somehow bring this to Walla Walla?

And, the answer is Yes!
With that, I cannot do it without help, so this is where YOU come in.
This project will take place over the next few months, and it will be fully funded by YOU, YOURS, and OURS. We currently have the land!

The Details:

*Frog Hollow Farm’s owners Amy and Jeff Dietrich have graciously offered to give space for this endeavor. Yay for Frog Hollow Farm and their generosity!

*They have allotted a 50X50-foot area for us to build an enclosure (fence). The fence would be 3.5 feet in height (see pictures for examples). This enclosure would allow young kids to safely play (not wander off) and will be our first step in the project.

*Within this enclosure we would like to place benches to sit, picnic tables, toys, a mud kitchen, and planter boxes for young and budding minds.

*We would eventually add a shade cover or pergola over the space, to provide shade in the warmer months, this would be step two.

*As the project expands, Frog Hollow would like to offer children’s outdoor education classes (i.e. nature walks, ecology, wildlife, etc…). And of course, farm lessons!

*We are hopeful to put in place some type of coffee bar or mobile unit (think food truck) to provide the eats and treats. This would be our final step if we can procure enough funding. We all love coffee, so let's do this, and get to step three!

What can you do?
-Contribute financially toward this project ($10, $50, $1000!).
-Volunteer your time and talents.
And, if you’re keen, feel free to do all three. 

Picture the perfect day… kids outside, picnic lunch, surrounded by beautiful views, community gathering, walking through rows of organic vegetables, filling your basket with u-pick flowers, savoring a warm cup of coffee while connecting with new friends. What a wonderful way to spend time.

Come on out!

Cheers,
Bre Lucas-Roberts and Amy Dietrich
