From Chicago To South Africa

My journey at Howard University has played a major role in my self discovery. This discovery was not easy and I have faced a lot of challenging times along the road. However, as a young man from Chicago I was afforded several opportunities I never thought that I would ever get to experience. I learned things I never thought I would learn and I traveled places I never thought I would be able to see. As I approach my final years at Howard University I was recently offered the opportunity to travel to South Africa with YAALI, and amazing fellowship here at the Mecca, on December 7th. With this opportunity I'll be given a platform to research the impact that HIV/AIDS and reconstruction of affordable healthcare had on the current generation of South Africa. As I pursue a career in the clinical field I truly believe this research will help develop skills that are necessary to better serve my community and other under served communities across the globe.
