From Crisis to Safety: Rescue Nermin's Family from Gaza

I'm Mohammed Alshaer, a medical student from Gaza studying in Germany. I'm organizing a fundraiser to help my friend Nermin reunite with her family by getting them out of Gaza.

Nermin says: “My name is Nermin M. Abu Libda, a medical doctor and public health master student, my life was irreversibly altered by the ongoing genocide in Gaza. My family-in-law fell victim to an Israeli attack killing all of my husband's immediate family and shattering the life I once knew. My husband and I had to flee our home in North Gaza, and sought refugee in my family home in Rafah. We faced isolation as our community was torn apart by war.

On March 13, 2024, after 158 days of living in fear, my husband and I made the heart-wrenching choice to leave Gaza and my beloved family behind in a desperate bid for survival. Each day was consumed by the haunting fear that they too would become casualties of the brutal conflict. On March 30, 2024, my sister, Shahed, called: "We've been airstriked," she whispered, her voice trembling with fear. "But we're alive. The rocket didn't explode." Yet, even in their survival, the scars of war had left their mark - my sister Nayrouz, just 18 years old, lay injured and traumatized, while my family faced displacement and uncertainty, with nowhere to call home.

Now, I stand before you with a plea for help. My family's safety hangs in the balance, and I refuse to let them become victims of a war they never chose. With your support, we can raise the funds needed to evacuate them to safety, away from the horrors of conflict and into the arms of loved ones.

This situation is urgent, with tensions rising and the threat of further violence looming in Rafah. I'm desperate to relocate my family to safety before it's too late. Your support will cover the costs of their journey to safety, providing them with a chance at a new life free from fear and uncertainty. Your donation is not just a financial contribution; it's a lifeline for them and an investment in the future of our children, giving them the educational opportunities they deserve.

We need €40,000 for travel costs - €5,000 for each adult and €2,500 for each child under 16. I am trying to evacuate my family of 9, including my father, mother, brothers Mohammed and Haitham, Mohammed's wife Nour, their daughters Ronza and Nareez, and my sisters Shahed and Nayrouz.

Since I have fled with my husband before, we know how to evacuate my family well but the financial need is what stopping us from doing so, every penny you will donate will go to help my family flee and we will be forever thankful considering our plea and for your compassion in our time of need.”
