From ELP, let’s help CFA get to NYC!

CFA began its journey at Marty Robbins Recreation Center, in the ballet/dance room.After a couple of years, they outgrew the recreation center and moved into their own gym. Still, not a full size gym that most cheer teams utilize which includes 9 mats. CFA athletes practice on 4 mats. 2020 was a challenging year for all of us and CFA athletes were not the exception, they were strongly impacted. They not only faced the temporary closure of their gym due to the pandemic, but their Head Coach, their role model, had been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. This was devastating for CFA but seeing their Coach stay strong and walking by Faith was a great inspiration and motivation for all our CFA family. As Coach Esther underwent chemotherapy and radiation, many times she was unable to attend practices, but her cheerleaders and coaches were not going to let her down. They were committed, dedicated and ready to make her proud. This perseverance showed her the true meaning of their motto, “One Legacy, One Heart, One Dream.” CFA FIERCE has competed at several local and out of town competitions and remains undefeated. This amazing group of girls and their one yell leader won GRAND CHAMPIONS at the UTEP Cheer competition this past February. The prize for this was not only free admission to UTEP’s annual cheer camp but an invitation to accompany them in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in NEW YORK CITY this November! As exciting and privileged this once in a lifetime opportunity is for all our girls and boy from EL PASO, it comes with a great expense that many families were not prepared to make. We are asking for the El Paso community’s help and contributions. These kids deserve to make this trip and put El Paso’s name up high at their short age. Anything and everything helps get these kids to New York! We appreciate your support.
