From non-runner to Cardiff Half Marathon for MEN1
My dad was in a hospice whilst I was doing my GCSE's. We received support from Macmillan Cancer Support. Back then MEN1 was a rare and little known condition. We didn't know what was going to happen, but we eventually came to realise that he wouldn't live to see me go to university. Now Macmillan have an easy to understand page explaining MEN and my brother, who inherited the gene from my dad, is receiving the latest treatment and support. My sister
in law tells me that they have also really valued the information provided by AMEND, an organisation specifically working to research MEN and support patients with MEN.

I struggled with the emotional and psychological impacts of losing my dad for years. This year I have taken up the challenge of doing the Cardiff Half-Marathon in October for Macmillan Cancer Support. I started doing the NHS Couch to 5K podcast just before Christmas. I have never been a runner, but this goal is motivating me and I am actually enjoying it! Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
