From Townsville to QMC 2023

Townsville Walkabouts Under 16 Rugby League Team is seeking sponsorship to enable 25 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young men participate in the Queensland Murri Carnival at Redcliffe Dolphins, Kayo Stadium, Redcliffe from Tuesday 26 September to Friday 29 September 2023.

The Queensland Murri Carnival promotes increased school attendance and health and wellbeing through mandatory health checks and school records. Which is why our committee is committed to enabling access to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander youth to participate in such a carnival, in addition it will open a representative pathway for Townsville Indigenous players to represent Queensland.

Rugby league is a great tool to engage young men and it is through this engagement we are also able to facilitate leadership and resilience focuses on 4 key areas to reach specific outcomes through Cultural Identity, Education and Employment, Health and Wellbeing and Stronger Relationships

We invite you to partner with us in making positive lifestyle changes and encouraging leadership for the 25 selected Townsville Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young men. As I am sure you can understand we have some very specific timelines to allow this to occur for our young men and we are unable to proceed without securing financial support. With this is mind we request your urgent consideration. Any support will assist the team with travel, transport and supplies, including food, to participate and for the duration of the carnival.
