Brutally Beaten NYC Deli Worker Needs Help from the Public

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Community,

I made this Go-Fund for my friend’s father, Abdul, who was viciously assaulted recently by a seasoned criminal and unfortunately resulted in Abdul being hospitalized for brain bleeding and several broken bones in the face. The media links will be at the bottom detailing everything that happened that night that was reported on the news. Abdul Alshawish is a 65-year-old recently early retired man and was the victim of a horrific and senseless act of violence. On the night of June 17th, while working part time at his friend’s deli in Woodside Queens, Abdul’s life was forever changed.

Around 11pm, Abdul was intentionally bumped by an assailant. When he gently asked, “why did you bump me?” He was met with unimaginable brutality. The assailant viciously punched Abdul in the face over 20 times, threw him to the floor, and mercilessly kicked him in the face 11 times. Even after he was knocked unconscious, the attack continued, leaving Abdul with severe life changing injuries. The assailant left the store, only to return and deliver three more devastating kicks to Abdul’s face before fleeing.

Abdul now lies in a hospital bed, his face severely bruised and swollen with many critical surgeries that will soon be needed. He suffers from a brain hemorrhage, two fractured eye sockets, a severely fractured nose, a broken maxilla and is missing 6 frontal teeth. He does not remember the attack that left him in this condition and is currently displaying signs of paranoia and aggression to his friends and family.

Doctors have informed his family that he will struggle to speak properly for some time after all the surgeries are complete. They also stated that given the initial severity of his brain bleed, it looks like he will need neurotherapy to assist with the healing process and will need to be monitored during his recovery journey with his assigned specialist.

Abdul is more than just a victim; he is a father, a friend, and is well known among his friends and family in the Yemeni-American community as a down to earth, genuinely kind and generous man. He has always been there to lend a helping hand for many people that he has met randomly in life. We are seeking to raise a minimum of $20,000 to cover his medical expenses as well as treatments he will need after he is released from the hospital like dental work and Neurological Rehabilitation. Your generous contribution will not only help alleviate the financial burden on his family but also offer them hope and support during this heartbreaking time.

Please consider donating to Abdul’s recovery fund. Every dollar brings us one step closer to helping him out. For more information, you can find details of the links below.
