From Tragedy To Triumph: Naija Whitaker Homegoing
Donation protected
Naija S Whitaker was a wonderful, bright, loving, but complicated woman who faced much adversity in her 25 years and overcame many of the obstacles life threw her way. Her first battle would be at birth, being born with meconium aspiration, strep B sepsis, and jaundice. She won those health battles and went on to be an honor student for the better part of her youth.
She had been abused throughout her childhood physically, sexually, and verbally, and ended up in foster care in the process. From the age of 12 until she aged out at 21, foster care unfortunately compounded some of the very issues that brought her to care in the first place. During that time, she would be diagnosed with several mental health disorders that went untreated for most of her short life.
Interpersonal struggles in her adult years with some family members drove her to homelessness. But in spite of her dire circumstances, she would go on to complete culinary arts Job Corps training and a paralegal internship. She was employed with several jobs, but her most substantial career would be her last, as a contract paralegal administrative assistant in connection with the Department Of Health And Human Services, a position she held for almost 2 years.
Unfortunately, Naija nor her family established any life insurance provisions for her. Her family and loved ones would like to make her homegoing services a beautiful event. Anything you can donate to contribute to the event would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your prayers and support.
