From War to Hope: Move Mayar's Family to Safety
Donation protected
My name is Yara ElMaghrabi, an architect and researcher currently living in Germany. I have created this fundraiser to help my friend Mayar and her family travel to safety and cross the border from Gaza to Egypt. The following text and photos are her own.
From Mayar :
I’m posting this after months of living an ongoing genocide, believing now that this is our only option to stay alive. With the constant thought of the responsibility I carry, to protect my family.
My name is Mayar Abu Dalfa, a Palestinian from Gaza, Today, I reach out with a heavy heart, seeking your help during the most harrowing time my family has ever faced. After losing 9 members of my grandfather’s family and my aunt’s family in an unjust bombing while they were sleeping at night, your help prevents me from losing my parents and brothers in another bombing.
I hope you can help me in facilitating this urgent mission to provide my family with a safe passage to Egypt to escape the devastating war in Gaza.
The attached image is of the bombing of my family.
We're a small family, of 5 members, and we're struggling to survive:
My Father: Hany Abu Dalfa
My Mother: Adiba Abu Dalfa
My brother: Mahmoud Abu Dalfa
My brother : Moustafa Abu Dalfa

How the fund will be spent :
To escape this nightmare, we need 8000$ per person to cross the Egypt borders, plus extra money to stay there until things calm down
- The cost of crossing the Egyptian border is $8,000 per person, totaling $40,000 for our family of five
- The cost of living in Egypt until the war ends 7000$
Your donation wouldn't just be money; it would be a lifeline, giving us a chance to find safety and a bit of peace in the midst of this chaos, this is our last option, and there is nothing other than this that we can do, to live again ,Gaza has been our home, with all its joys and struggles, but right now, it is a matter of life.
My family is currently in Rafah city, their fourth shelter during this war, trying to survive bombings and hunger. But their safety is not guaranteed because of the looming invasion of Rafah.
We've stayed in the north for a while but the situation became horrifically unbearable. We left the north and evacuated more than 4 times, threatened by airstrikes and death.
Our neighborhood and home were destroyed, my family escaped to Al-Shifa Hospital. It was not long before the Israeli army told everyone in West Gaza to leave. My parents left that day not knowing where to go. My friend was able to host them in Rafah. They stayed for one week. That place was later destroyed, but thankfully, it did not harm any of them.

Now we live with 22 members in an unfinished house that is not suitable for living at all, without doors, windows, or any other necessities for living. In a building that was partially destroyed dueto the bombing that led to the deaths of martyrs in the same building. In the night, it gets really cold, dark, and we’re always worried about water leaks when it rains heavily through the night.

I was working as a content writer in a company in Gaza and I was happy in my work. I have two brothers who work as accountants in Gaza. Since the war began on October 7, we have all lost our jobs and homes
Your help could mean everything to us.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your help and concern.
