Harry's Feral Fund #fromferaltofriend
Donation protected
On New Year’s Eve, Harold was trapped as a feral cat and brought to an emergency vet after a Rhode Island resident tipped local volunteers off to his very noticeable head injury. A local animal welfare group immediately started a fundraiser for his emergency visit. With their help, $200 was raised to offset what was ultimately a +$1,000 vet bill. Due to his extensive head wound, and his unfamiliarity with the kindness of humans, he needed specialized care and diagnostics under careful sedation.
Since his discharge, Harold has been learning the comforts of being indoors with his loving foster family. The Northwest Animal Protection League, a small not for profit rescue group specializing in helping special needs cats like Harold, is managing his care and medical treatments. His care is currently estimated to reach $1,500 which includes weekly wound care appointments, antibiotics, pain management, dental care, and treatment of some other medical concerns that come from a life on the streets. Harold requires sedation for his exams and treatments.
Harold has come a long way in just a few weeks and has taken considerably well to allowing his "staff" to serve him. He has a big personality and as the days go on we get to enjoy glimpses of his appreciation for our help and compassion (despite his somewhat obstinate nature!) His initial wariness and fearfulness is slowly melting away each day. He has started to interact more with his humans, chirping for treats and even playing with toys. Our hope is that Harold will make a full recovery from his injuries and ultimately become social enough with humans to land him a furrever home.
We invite you to take a chance on Harold as we help him forget his past and look forward to his future. All donations will go towards Harold's care and any surplus of funds received will go towards helping cats just like Harry, in need of a helping hand.
