Donation protected
What is a Food Co-op?
Food Co-Ops are grocery stores owned by the people who shop there. Food cooperatives are consumer-owned cooperatives for the most part, where the decisions regarding the production, distribution, and pricing of the products are decided by its steering committee (board of directors) and owners.
What is the Benefit?
Co-ops aim to offer high-quality food at fair prices – for the community (consumers and producers.) Doing business in this fashion helps money in the local community by supporting local growers, mom-and-pop vendors, local brewers, etc. This local commerce helps create and bring jobs to the community.
Co-ops also specialize in carrying foods and products for individuals following special diets such as paleo, vegan, keto, gluten-free, diabetic, etc.
What are we Doing to Get Started?
-Local Fund Raising Campaign
-General Mass “GoFundMe”
-Grant Applications to local, public, and private philanthropic organizations.
-Owner Share Campaign/Drive (Once Incorporated) (Per Household)
-Owner Loans (Once Incorporated)
What do we Need?
Frontera Co-Op needs to raise $50,000 for legal fees, professional market study, design, incorporation, and other start-up costs.
On Behalf of the Steering Committee, Thank You!
-Dr. Viviana Martinez
